Chapter 15
GABE
Waking up to someone banging on the door, has me jumping up and quickly getting into my jeans. I just pray it’s not her mother or father, “Stay put babe while I go and see who it is.”
I quickly kiss Bree and run out of the bedroom shutting the door behind me.
Unlocking the door Beth bursts in, “Christ Gabe, I’m freezing my butt off out here. You never lock your door when you’re home. Why now?”
Stopping her flow of speech when she obviously realizes I’m practically naked. “Err.” Glancing to my closed bedroom door, “You have someone in there?”
Smiling, “Yeah, I do.” Watching Beth blush is amazing, she’s obviously embarrassed at having caught me in the act. Well nearly.
“Oh god, Bree’s gona be pissed.” Putting her hand to her mouth, “Shit, forget I said that.”
Grinning at an uncomfortable Beth, “Why would Bree be pissed at me for having a woman in my cabin and my bed?”
She starts backing slowly away from me, heading towards the door, “Err, look I think I should go.”
“Oh, no you don’t. Spit it out Beth.”
“Okay, but if you tell her, I’ll kill you.” She says, pointing her finger at my chest.
“She’s into you and always has been.” I can’t help be stunned. Even though I know Bree loves me, to hear Beth say that has my heart pounding, “Knowing you have a woman here would break her heart.”
“I’m the woman Beth.” Bree whispers. I hadn’t seen her approach. There’s going to be no mistake about what we’ve been doing as Bree looks well loved which makes me want to beat my chest!
Beth stops dead in her tracks, “You. But. Wow.” Laughing Beth takes a deep breath, “How long have you two been carrying on?”
Walking over to stand with me, Bree wraps her arm around my waist as I pull her in tight with an arm over her shoulder. “We finally got together when I arrived home.”
She lifts her head off my chest, “Beth, are you really alright with Gabe and I being together?”
“Of course I am. God you’ve both been sniffing around each other for years, so all I can say is ‘it’s about God damn time’.”
Pulling out of my arms, Bree walks over to Beth as they hug each other, “Sis, how would you feel about me moving back home, not the house, but here to Gabe’s cabin?” Bree stops to take a breath, “As his wife?”
Screaming, Beth throws herself around Bree, then let’s go, nearly making Bree stumble. She then runs and jumps on me, giving me a big sloppy kiss. “So you’re really going to be my brother now? This is so cool. I’ve always thought of you as my brother, but now it’s going to be official. Can I go tell Mom and Dad, oh and Travis?”
“No.” Both Bree and I reply at the same time.
Beth doesn’t look happy, “Beth we have to tread carefully here okay. Gabe and I grew up together in the same house. You and Mom are okay with us being together, but we don’t know how Dad and Travis will take it.
